Caffeine.tv is the newest streaming platform born of streamers and developers. This platform does things a bit different than the major sites like Twitch, Mixer, and YouTube. A few unique features include a real-time chat mechanism. The streamer views any messages sent by viewers instantly. The currency is via stickers. A supporter can buy Gold then convert Gold into stickers. And this streaming platform has its own broadcasting software. Users can broadcast to Caffeine using Caffeine.

The platform itself is pretty brilliant, zero lag time on chat and streaming straight from your desktop with just a click; no stream key necessary. There is an option to stream from OBS and create a custom layout but there is no need.

For example, a rainbow sticker can cost 500 Gold. A waving hand sticker can cost 5. Depending on how much you’d like to give to the streamer you can give stickers. There are options to give the same sticker more than once or go with a unique sticker for a more expensive payout.

The perks I get as a Caster are; access to the Caster Channels in the Discord, collecting cool prizes for completing monthly challenges — like my new Logitech camera and my caster pin! Plus access to a mentor to teach me a few things on my streaming journey.

There are partnered options however there are no certain ways to become partnered just yet.

Streaming on Caffeine is easy, there is no need for a camera. As long as the PC is running a game from the approved list of games, which is super long, then you’re good to go. If you’d like to stream games not on the list or using your console that is where OBS comes in. Xbox, PS4, Switch, even the original Wii games can be streamed on Caffeine using third-party streaming software. To get started, simply sign up on Caffeine.TV, download the desktop application, start any game and click broadcast. With the software, there is no need to fumble with camera or audio settings, properties, nor filters.

I have used Caffeine software on its own and I have used it with OBS. Either method is very easy to implement. OBS is used when I’m playing a console powered game. If I’m getting headshots on CS:GO I have no problem using just the software. My favorite games to play on Caffeine are party games like, Jackbox Party Pack 5. Running this game on Caffeine is absolutely flawless. I am getting real-time responses from the players, those chatting during the stream and the game. It makes me feel like I’m having a community night in my living room.

The downside of Caffeine is there are no vods. Only through OBS can you record your livestreams, playback, and upload them. The website is very easy to navigate however you are easily overrun with Fornite streams. One of the commanders in chief at Caffeine did say they are looking into categorizing streams. As of right now, the site is on an infinite scroll method. It is easy to find new streamers to watch. Caffeine also showcases up and coming talent on the website. It’s a lottery, anyone has the chance to be featured.

Caffeine isn’t only charitable to its streamers but also charities. In a recent challenge, Caffeine said it would match the money earned from charity streamers and give it to a charity. They recently gave two thousand dollars to the Child’s Play charity.

Overall I’m really pleased with the platform. It is going to continue to grow. I believe it set out to make streaming accessible to everyone. Caffeine is doing just that. Once access to a PC is available, streaming is possible.
