Ash’s Mom: The best Trainer in the World

The most disturbing theory to ever grace the Pokemon series is Mr. Mime being in a relationship with Ash’s mom. Who really wants to think about that? It feels weird and seems like it could never happen. However, the more Mr. Mime is shown next to Ash’s mom, the more it seems likely. For example, let’s take a look at this screenshot right here.

Why is Mr. Mime’s hand on Ash’s mom’s knee? Is there any doubt Mr. Mime would be a good partner? Mr. Mime will cook, clean, and raise the kids — what more is there to ask? Mr. Mime is obviously great with kids. He’s excellent with Ash, he wakes him up, prepares his food for both Ash and Pikachu, and …eats with them? Wait, wait, wait! It’s odd that Mr. Mime is almost an equal partner in the house but still has to sit on the floor with the Pokemon to eat. Or maybe that’s their way of bonding with Ash and Pikachu.

Anytime we see Ash’s mom, we see Mr. Mime either popping into to say hi or walking around with an expression of contentment while cleaning.

There are few things to examine about the Pokemon Mr. Mime. They’re not exactly a domesticated bunch. Yes, they have arms, opposable thumbs, and the brain power to get things done. This makes them a hard Pokemon to catch. They’re tricksters — because of their mastery of pantomime they make imaginary things become real. Imagine, training Mr. Mime and they mime a box, pretty cute right? Wrong! They’ve just mimed a box around their trainer trapping them in it. This is not a Pokemon to walk freely around anyone’s house without some serious training.

It’s easy to see the story between Ash and Pikachu unfold and think, ‘wow, Pikachu is a handful and that’s why he and Ash have a great relationship.’ Let’s place Mr. Mime in place of Pikachu. Ash, only 10 years old, set out to conquer the world of Pokemon; but he’s not that bright. Mr. Mime would be the trainer and Ash would be the Pokemon — No doubt about it.

It’s easy to fall for the facade of the smiling Mr. Mime we also see, but let’s not forget the Mr. Mime we saw in Detective Pikachu.

Detective Pikachu Mr. Mime

Absolutely horrifying, cunning, and slick. And that’s just their appearance. Not to mention, those blue things on their head are HORNS! Not hair, not ears, but horns.

So if Ash’s Mom is dating or has domesticated Mr. Mime, more power to her. She’s trained this terrifying beast to do laundry, pick up after Ash, and cook dinner every day without so much as a complaint.
